| does anybody have any thought about this?
who are you voting for?
I personally am rooting for Barack Obama. and I really think that he has the democratic ticket. i mean after winning 10 straight primaries I really don't think that Hillary Clinton has the ability to regain enough votes.
what say the rest of you? |

| Well as opinionated as an Australian can be about American elections, it will acually affect Australia in the long term so we do discuss it a fair bit here. I am personally a fan of Hilary Clinton. Obama is a decent guy and I have no real issues with him except his whole 'change speech'. I mean he promises so much, then when you actually look at what he proposes to do, half it won't get through and a lot of it is quite useless for the 1 Trillion dollars he plans to spend. I obviously don't get as much news about the whole thing as most of you do so please DON'T YELL AT ME, but feel free to calmly shut me down if you wish _________________

lol. why would i yell at you?
I like hearing other people's opinions. And I like discussing things... I think that Obama is a great leader, which i think is what the United States needs at this moment, Hilary is just a politician. And yes of course this is going to effect the rest of the world. With how tied the United States is to every country economically and the War on Terror, there is no doubt that this election is going to effect just about everyone. |

| The US is the current world super power, the new President is most likely going to have to lead America into what will most likely be an economic crises. China will become the world super power, there is no questions about it. I do not think that Obama has the leadership skills to deal with China and everything that will come with it, you deal with China the wrong way and they will fight a war with no guns, it's simple. The war on terror will play a part yes, it will also become increasingly more expensive as time goes on, relationships will be tested, I mean Australia will be out of Iraq within months, how will McCain or Obama deal with that? We are already pissing the Japanese off because our Prime Minister speaks Mandarin, the last thing we need is the US against us. I believe that Hilary is more so for the people than Obama, I just can't deal with his constant speech for change, change that isn't all that different. He promises a bunch of small time promises that will persuade voters to think 'hey thats a good deal;l' which is incredibly smart politics yes, but not something that will benefit the country as a whole. I am still pissed from the Australian elections because the Liberal party lost and Australia is run by a party of lefty pricks, so maybe I should lighten up on Obama, but I plan to move to the US within 12 months and I would rather have Hilary leading it. _________________

| I don't think any candidate has the right kind of leadership to deal with China, but I would rather see Obama in the White House than Clinton because while Obama promises change, Clinton promises expirence. I personally think that change is better than expirence so I'm going for Obama. I would get into a long rant about politics but I generally rant about specific topics and not politics as a whole. _________________

| China is going to be a major play in this... situation... ( for lack of a better word) I mean the United States already is in debt to China. Our national Deficit is over nine trillion dollars. (yeah, I'm not even making that up)... I don't know who we are going to deal with it all. Although I do want Obama to be president... Whoever gets to be president is going to have to deal with much more than any other president. The War, the economic crisis that is bound to happen, I mean the united states is basically already in a recession are all going to be issues that the next president must deal with. I just hope that whoever is elected is better than our current President Bush. |

| | Obama is great, but I think I'd be more comfortable with Clinton as president. She's not afraid to be tough just because she's a woman. It bothers me so much that everyone picks on Clinton. Especially if it's because she's a woman in power. I think Clinton can lead the country out of the terrible direction of the Bush Administration. The problem is, I don't know if she can win, everyone seems to hate her. I'm okay with Obama, but I'd prefer Clinton. Too bad no one I've talked to agrees with me. I'm sure it's because Obama's our senator here. |
