| what do you guys think is going on in the preface?? i think its bella being turned into a vampire. she says that shes dyeing and being turned is sort of like dyeing b/c you heart stops and stuff. also she said that she loves the person whos killing her. if its edward thats changing her then she deffinatly loves him. what do you think?? _________________

| I think its a red herring, to make you think that its Bella's transformation. Some one suggested that the preface is actually from Jacob's point of view. I kinda like this idea, and it fits with my theories on the cover. Since the cover shows a pawn, I think that someone in the story is going to be a "pawn" in a big battle (volturi maybe?) and end up sacrificing themself. I could totally see Jacob doing something drastic to save Bella. _________________

| I definitely think it could have been from Jacob's point of view. and it has to be a red herring. It's too obvious that it would be Bella's transformation or her 'human experience' that I don't think Stephenie would write about completely. Going with face value, it could be Bella talking about Edward turning her because the Volturi are after him, or someone is after him, bleh. I don't know. |

| I agree, definite red herring. It reminds me of the passage on the back cover of New Moon that makes it sound like the scene where Bella cuts her finger and the Cullens are all "ZOMG BLOOD! RUN AWAY!" is absolutely pivotal (not that it's not an important scene) but it ends up being about Edward leaving, Psycho-Bella, Jacob, the pack, the volturi and whatnot.
Okay, that made no sense, but the point is, it was misleading. I think this is the same kind of thing. It probably is from Jake's point of view, but I'm still not convinced he's going to die. _________________

| WAIT! I changed my mind! After reading it like 5 more times, I've decided that it is from Bella's POV, because she's talking about having a billion near death experiences, and I think she's the only character who can claim that. BUT what if its not Edward she's talking about as the person she loves? What if its Jacob?! What if all our Mike Newton Theories about Jacob turning into bitter, evil-Jake were true, and he really would rather have her dead than a vampire?
I don't know. This is killing me! _________________

| I dunno. Even though we know she loves him, I just can't see Bella saying something like "If your life was all you had to give your beloved, how could you not give it?" about him. "Beloved" just isn't a very Bella-ish word... Or a Jake-ish word for that matter... hmmm...Could POV number two be Edward??? (Sorry - I'm Mike Newton theory-ing.) It's more of a gut feeling than anything else. I remember reading something on Stephanie's site where she said she didn't know why people were assuming Jacob was going to turn into this mega evil super villain and I intend on taking her word for it.
My head hurts. _________________

| Why would Edward be giving up his life?!?! What the HELL did Bella get herself into now?!? But i agree that the preface was super formal, and very Edwardish. God, this is torture! My Mike Newton Theories are running wild in my head, and they all seem plausible now. I mean, if Charlie and Renee were fine with the wedding, ANYTHING is possible! _________________

| DANG IT!!! Ya'll are making my head hurt!!! O.K Lets see Theoies: It could be Edward It could be Bella It could be Jake
Reasons: Edward = formal format Bella = Near death experances Jake = giving his life
Most likly it's Bella! She's the only one to have several near death experances Like in a near death experance she could be more formal like when she jumped off the cliff she was being more formal. And also she would give her life for a loved one in Twilight she went to meet James for her MOTHER. This is my guess and if anyone has more the add on the "Reasons" I'll gladly add it. Its beter to organize information we may be able to solve it. Let's Crack the code! lol
i feel really wierd right now wow _________________

| | I would've thought it was from Jake's POV, but he hasn't had as many near death experiences as Bella. James, Laurent, Victoria, new-borns, Volturi... I could go on. My first thought was that it was Jacob when Bella is a vampire. But I was thinking, what if Bella goes crazy as a new-born and Edward has to kill her? Crazy, I know, but I like to consider all possibillities. |
