| I read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn yesterday and I was overcome with important questions. What will happen to Jacob for the rest of the series? Will this be the last book? Is Edward going to make Bella sad or angry? Is Bella actually happy they are getting married? Is there really such a thing as a Mercedes Guardian? These were all questions I was ready to answer...if I had the information. So thus comes this topic, ready to accept your theories: what do you all think about the first chapter and how do you think it will affect the rest of the book?
My theories:
From the cover - The cover for Breaking Dawn features a red pawn and a white queen. What I took from that was that the red pawn was Edward and the white queen was Bella, and the red pawn was trying to get close to the white queen so as to "capture" it, meaning in a sense that Edward was going to change Bella. From the prologue - The prologue was quite confusing, in a way that was completely clear. I got the vibe that Bella was going to be changed, and that she was happy for that to come. But there was another sentence: When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. Eerie, huh? I have no idea what it means, but when I read it the first time I didn't think anything of it. My friend pointed it out to me. Don't be ignorant like me and skip over that part. Yes, it will put you in thinking agony and; yes, it will make you anxious to recieve the book, but still, it is important and cannot be skipped over!

| I'm a really big chess fan and I just wanted to say this:
Sometimes a piece that is sacrificed to save another piece is called a "red piece."
Maybe vampire Bella is forced to kill a human because she is thirsty, or Edward is forced to kill human bella because of the volturi! _________________

| Ohh. I like it sounds like it just might be the case.
My thoughts: I'm almost possitive that Stephenie said this was the last book, she might come back & write enougther one but I dout it. Me & mysister had this whole discussion about Jacob last night, but I think he will come back for some reason & I even go so far as to hope he will imprint. Edward will probally do a little bit of both [sad or angrey] at some point in the book. Bella being happy is a tough one, I don't really know I think that the main reason she wouldn't be happy about it is because of what everybody is thinking. She wants to be with Edward & in the end will be happy. Yes there is a Mercedes s600 Guard a.k.a. Mercedes Guardian. I really have no guess as to what the plot of the rest of the book will be about...anything could happen [not much help am I?].
I do have a somewhat decent idea for the cover though - On pg. 599 of Eclipse Bella is thinking about how Jacob is her soul mate but Edward is something more, something that trumps a soul mate. "Was it out there for Jacob, too? Something that would trump a soul mate? I had to believe that it was." Trumping is something that happens in chess [When you take the queen? I'm not shure..] But thats what I think, I don't think it represents any perticular person. Just the idea of how things are in the not so "sane place" Bella lives in. Im really not shure which is what but my guess [yes I have a guess in my own theory, teehee] is that the queen is the soul mate [jacob] & the pawn [edward] is some small-not-thought-of force that ends up getting the queen ["trumping"]. _________________

I never knew about the whole red piece thing in chess. I often thought that the pawn was Jacob, who in a way is under Bella's spell. I thought it was Jacob because it was red (red-brown wolf). I suspect two major battles, maybe Jacob ends up sacrificing himself to save Bella, even though, as a vampire, she is his enemy. |
