I think thats just a joke!! I dont think that any1 would post that isnt the onely pplz who know whats in the book SM and Spunk??

ok so i read ti and if its SM's then whatever im still gonna read the book.. if its not wutever its still a relaly good story... and i emailed the Webmaster Seth to ask him aoubt/ bring this to his attention... i asked if he could confirm or deny this... he will probably post on the wevsite when they get it resolved but so far i havent seen an update since August 15th.. soooo

Sadly there is a response on Stephenie's site from Stephenie about this 'leak'.
This is why 'leaks' like this hurt the fans as well as the author. Goodbye Midnight Sun?

Wow, Stephenie kinda took this super super badly.

That sounded like a defeat speech.
Do you really think she's gonna give it up all together just because someone leaked it? (Was it Spunk Ransom?) That seems a little over dramatic but I understand that she's upset.

omg i was sooo sad when i read that... she was saying how she might not even finish it anymore!!! i do think that it was a total violation, but i also really hope that she will understand that sometimes these things just happen in life and there isn't anything we can do about it, i hope she will be able to see past her devastation and finish what she started.... the leak will probly make people even more anxious to read it.

Stephenie does mention that she doesn't believe that the initial distribution was done maliciously. Still she is obviously very hurt by all of this. Sadly once this ruff draft hit the Internet it took on a life of its own, and curtailing such damage is especially difficult if not impossible. I'm sure we can't imagine how she must feel to have her life's work and dream taken advantage of in such a way. We don't know the exact details, only Stephenie does and we as fans can only give our support, encouragement and well wishes to our favorite author. I would recommend maybe something placed upon the front pages of as many Twilight fansites as possible or emails/fan postings with as many member sigs as possible that give/show Stephenie our encouragement and support. I'm sure many of us will buy Midnight Sun (if it is ever completed & sold) regardless of the leak as we have come to love the series that she has created and would cherish having a complete collection of her greatest work. Her stories have touched the hearts of millions and the actions of one(or several) individual(s) will not deter her faithful fans from always supporting her.

oh my goodness. I feel so bad for her. It makes me sad seeing how hurt she seems. I cannot believe this happened! I understand her not wanting to have it published anymore though. She must be very upset.

GRRRRRRRRR I really don't like whoever leaked it. It's disgusting what they did. Just horrible.

Ok...I hate to say this, but Stephenie is being a drama queen about this. She needs to realize that with the level of success she's had, sometimes bad things are going to happen. That's no reason for her to get all depressed and upset fans by quitting. Harry Potter was always being leaked and spoiled. Imagine how upset JKR must have been. But she didn't throw a fit and decide not to release her books. Music artists get their music leaked constantly before they put out albums, but that doesn't stop them from officially releasing their music anyway. Stephenie Meyer needs to grow some tougher skin if she wants to continue to be successful. Her fans will still buy Midnight Sun, regardless of the leak. No need to put it on hold indefinitely.
And not all of her fans were reading the leaked chapters. I should know, being that I was one of them avoiding the leak. But since she's throwing a hissy fit and putting it on her website, I'm going to go ahead and read it because it realy sounds like she's giving up on completing it to me.

Sorry if that sounds like an attack on Stephenie. But I just think she's being immature about this. I understand that she's hurt and upset, and she has every reason to be. But to let her fans down because of something that's sometimes unavoidable...that's just not cool.

I agree with Dianeter, she has every reason to get upset but she needs to keep going. I really feel bad for her though, and i wish it hadnt been leaked, but shit happens, and you have to learn to deal with it.

I agree with you, Dianeter. I think SM has every right to be upset and hurt, but I think she needs to, to put it bluntly, suck it up. These things happen, and as awful as it might be, you have to move on. and I think she knows that her fans have want this book badly, and just because a rough rough draft of it got leaked, does definitely not mean she shouldn't release it. Most, if not all of the fanbase would buy it regardless of the leak.

And she did sound like she was accepting defeat. I don't think I would handle this any better, or that Stephenie is an awful person or I want to change her or anything, but I almost think like she should have said, "Hey, something horrible happened and I am upset and hurt about this, but I know I have a huge, supportive fanbase that wants this. I can trudge on through and still show everyone what I've got."

Like I said, she's got a right to be so upset, but just because someone let her down does not mean she has to let all of her fans down, too.
