| I just read info on the new mugglecast (ep 139) and gave it a quick listen and 1/4 of their podcasts starting next week are going to be dedicated to Twilight. They are changing the format and breaking their podcast into discussion on many topics and not just harry potter (lord of the rings, narnia, Twilight, and still harry potter). I do think they are running out of potter things to discuss and need to branch out. Just thought that this belonged in the news section.
It'll be interesting to hear what all of them have to say about Twilight...but Phases will always be my first choice for Twilight podcasts. How can a harry potter podcast have more experience with Twilight than you guys? Can't wait for the next episode!

| Yeppers...and andrew simms is at the filming of twilight and that's the reason he is not on that podcast.
To me it feels like Mugglecast is like the Walmart of podcasting. |

| I don't think Andrew Simms is all that concerned about podcasting. He just doesn't want to loose his fangirls. He was pretty much a fully fledged twilight hater a few months ago. Ugh. He makes me want to vomit.

| *runs out to hunt down and kick Andrew Sims very hard in the shin* I think they are just running out of things to talk about and don't want to go back to their normal boring lives so they are going to use their fame from doing the HP podcasts to try and find another series to talk to death. *apologizes for run-on-sentence rant* The only reason they are even doing Twilight is because it's becoming a movie so they are starting to finally realize how popular it actually is... *runs off to cancel her subscription to mugglecast* Now they have one less subscriber - so there

| I agree they are using their fame of mugglecast and don't know what to do. I mean do we really think they enjoy Twilight that much...I haven't heard a word about it since they said they were going to give it a shot and read it.
And mugglecast definitely cannot beat phases! |

Well, that's cool with me. I'm all for the expansion of Twilight fandom. Of course, Mugglecast will never beat Phases in Twilight discussion. I don't think there's really a need to worry about that. I think Mugglenet is just starting to realize how many HP fans are also Twilight fans so they decided to try to cater more to the Twilight series along with HP, that's all.
Heck, Mugglecast is probably responsible for a lot of Twilight fans in the first place. I found out about Twilight through Mugglecast. I agree, Mugglecast is probably running out of stuff to talk about. And their fans don't want to see them go off air. So why not branch out to something we all love...Twilight! No harm done.

| You're right there, I heard about Twilight through mugglecast as well. To be honest, I haven't actually listened to them in weeks. It was getting kind of old. It's not that it's a HP podcast or that I've switched fandoms, (I love pottercast. Sue is my heroine.  ) it's just that they're getting a little full of themselves. It's not about the books or movies anymore, it's about themselves. There seems to be a very smug tone to their show recently.

| | I agree with you Laura...I have been getting that same impression from the mugglecast podcasts lately. I think they realized it wasn't about the books or movies anymore so they decided to change direction. I do think they are trying to cover too many different topics...we shall see. |

| I found out about Twilight through Harry Potter - but not through Mugglecast - So I guess I feel differently about the whole situation. I guess I'm just very opposed to it because the very few times I did hear them mention Twilight on Mugglecast it was them almost making fun of Twilight, and the fandom behind it. So it really irritates me that all of the sudden they are jumping on the bandwagon, and trying to switch part of their focus to Twilight. I wouldn't mind if they seemed to be actual and genuine fans of the series - but from what I've heard they really aren't - so I just see it as a vain attempt to keep themselves on top. But alas - that is just my opinion on it

And I'll admit, I too was not very fond of Twilight before I read them. 
I was (and still am) a HP-aholic and was dumbfounded when I heard that some vampire romance passed up HP on the best-sellers list. But then I broke down and read the books, and now I absolutely LOVE Twilight and am a proud member of the fandom. 
So, I'm proof that it's possible to have a change of heart towards the series.
But I'm still thinking this whole thing may very well be a joke...
